SWAT 4 demo
[quote name="FABIO"]Someone here once said that "realism" in FPS's translated to "moving really slow and headshot = instant death". SWAT 4 seems to get half of this right, but any shot pretty much kills no matter where it hits. Take away all the AUTHENTIC swat aspects, like the thrill of getting suspects to surrender instead of getting killed so you can spend 5 seconds cuffing them, the joy of picking up every single dropped weapon as evidence, the excitement of radioing in every downed suspect, all you're left with really is a slow shooter that's extremely easy. It's realistic in the sense that a bunch of thugs holding up a liquor store with saturday night specials stand no chance against an armored swat team brandishing M4's. Just like real life, the only challenge comes in the form of trying to secure hostages safely and getting the suspects to surrender rather than being "forced" to resort to deadly force. I think the pace might be too slow even for realism's sake. How long do typical hostage situations last once the SWAT team rushes in? 20 seconds? 40? At 15 minutes, I finally found the last thug hiding behind a fenced in corner in the basement. Verdict: Have fun screwing around with th beanbag bullets and tazer gun. Once you get bored with them, uninstall. The only thing that could get me to buy this game would be a pissed off balding captain shouting at me every time I "jumped the gun" and wracked up a bodycount which gives him a nightmare of paperwork. I would be called a loose cannon, which I would counter by saying that my methods get results, to which he would counter counter by saying that he reads about my results, in the obituaries!
