Re: You were. In the basement.

The receptionist that gives you the PDA: that scene is really brown Workers' outfits: So very brown. However, I do have to admit the sound is incredible. That part where everything turns in the very beginning is creepy as hell, and that's as far as I've gotten since I want to finish Tales of Symphonia first.
The part where everything turns is so far my favorite part. It became so after I realized I could blow that scientist's head off before he became possessed with one shot NIGGUH and then hide in a corner to snipe the other dude who bursts all in with his pistol. UUHHH OOOH NOO WHAT'S THIS? It's me capping you prematurely, you dink. Otherwise, shooting dudes seven times with the pistol blows, since that's plenty of time to shoot you at least once and if there's more than one guy: forget it.
Atmosphere aside, the gameplay sucks before you get the shotgun. Once you have that, the best way of dealing with marine zombies is to duck behind a corner before they shoot, wait until they give chase and round the corner, then shoot them point blank IN THE FACE. In fact, shooting things point blank in the face with the shotgu is the best tactic all around (except for those dog thingies). If you see an imp start to conjure up a fireball, don't take that shit and run to dodge, run straight up and unload.
Tactics noted, already in play. Hide around corner, crouch, shoot upwards into face. I was impressed when a soldier zombie siderolled out of the way. Y'know, I can play RPGs for fucking hours, mang. Hours, days. I can go Senor Barborito on a good RPG. Doom 3, I play about an hour at a time. Because here's that same room again, more or less: the one with the dark spots, the monster closets, the half-assed secret areas with armor and ammo. I stop periodically because it stays fresher that way, the nice sound and graphics, the scary bits where something thumps and an imp crawls up a blast window in front of me to who knows where, the GOTCHA zombies popping out right behind you over and over. It's not over and over and over if you stop a lot, it's just over and over.
