I can't imagine anyone praising TT after The Walking Dead
Same & Max: Couldn't make it through. You have no idea how huge a S&M fan I was with their original early 90s game. I think they were funnier with text dialog. Puzzle Agent: Half decent puzzles, half jigsaw bullshit. The story and timing is bizarre in that it's set up perfectly for a comedy but they forgot all the humor. Back to the Future: Enjoyed, but almost entirely on nostalgia for one of the greatest movies of all time and a dead ringer for MJF. The Walking Dead: "Zombie stories are all about the characters" is what people too nerdy for Lord of the Flies say. I can't remember a single puzzle in all the first 3 episodes, just going around asking everyone how they're holding up between making the most contrived Sophie's choices. Fuck this game and the universal praise it got. It's the reason I never trust any critically praised story centric game like The Last of Us anymore. Game reviewers haven't the slightest clue what makes good gameplay, let alone writing. The fact that Tom Chick of all people is the only one to call out Blizzard writing proves it.
They've dropped the cat-hair moustache approach and aren't even asking for the common asking price of a PC/console game these days. For 25$ you get five games (only called episodes) roughly the same size as a Gabriel Knight or Sam and Max game from 15 years ago. Nobody's denying it's a pared down experience, but they've adjusted the price point accordingly.
What?-NT Those episodes run 30-60 minutes. I'll probably check out that Wolf game when it's down to $5.
