Re: Most games do if you get them on sale

I think it's great that there are people who are willing to play Early Access and offer feedback to devs or warnings to the rest of us. I just don't have the tolerance for bugs and moreso, the tolerance for rough gameplay. If I played a game and didn't like it, but it came with the caveat that it was only 50% done, I'm not sure if I'd have the motivation or time to go back to play it when it was 100% done to see if it was now a good game. I'd rather play something finished and know I didn't like it than play an alpha version and wonder if it'll be this bad when it's done. Although, maybe this is some sneaky way of trying to get us to enlarge our gaming backlog.
there's times when I don't have the time or motivation to go back. blackguards is an early access turn based rpg. the character development system (based on a german pnp rpg) has too many useless dead ends, combat is stupidly tedious and they only put about the first third of the game up on early access in the beginning. they added a bunch more chapters over the last month and just released the game but I'll never play the rest of it. re: the gaming backlog or w/e. valve is going to shut off greenlight and let companies upload stuff to early access directly. that's why they automated their refund system this month. you'll be able to buy a game on early access and if it's terrible or broken you can just get your money back before it gets released to the regular steam catalog. cue lots of dev whining about people playing all early access games with the same $50 and then more whining about discoverability
