Republicans are no more willing to allow Obama's moderate SC nominee through than they would be if he nominated a leftist extremist. Obama must first pursue a strategy to force Republicans <I>to</I> negotiate before making any concessions so he can begin negotiations proper with a strong starting ask. That way when a compromise is reached, the result isn't 75% in the Republican's favor <I>LIKE IT ALWAYS IS.</I> It's mathematical: 50% pre-emptive concession followed by 50% negotiated concession equals 75% total concession. If your attorney runs settlement negotiations with that strategy, fire that attorney or you'll get fucked.[/quote]
