That's what makes the edited reaction scandalous - the idea of an audience deliberately ignoring Applause signs. I still think it's misleading. I've read other commenters who seem to think it's real, and in spite of having seen dozens of their videos, some of which have similar edits, this one snuck right past me. It read, to me, as follows: the media is engaged in a conspiracy to lie to you about this movie, as evidence here is a shocking and embarassing moment from their Kimmel appearance that could have went viral but didn't because of said conspiracy. There's not much else I can do other than say this is how that part looked to me, because once I point out it's an edit the natural reaction is to say "oh yeah they do that kind of thing". But it's an especially conspicuous edit when they themselves are basically alleging a media conspiracy to manufacture opinion about the film.[/quote]
