Re: Double taxation

Well, I have some good news for you. I will give you unlimited sentences to flesh out your plan! The bad news is, I will criticize flaws in your plan, if they exist.
How very fair of you! Here's my new offer: loophole off the table. Capital gains taxed at normal personal income rates in lieu of corporate taxes. Or maybe even higher. Yeah, actually, make capital gains higher than personal income tax, fuck the rent seekers. If you're not even going to meet me halfway in the our little imagined reality playpen, why would I fucking bother?
If capital gains tax was extremely high, I would expect a lot more accounting shell games. Like it's pretty easy to set up a European subsidiary and rent some IP from them. Bam! You didn't make any US profit this year, because licensing the foobar patent consumed $999,999 of your $1,000,000 yearly profit. Who would have guessed it? I would also expect a lot more vertical integration and huge conglomerates set up to cancel out profits and losses by bundling unrelated businesses. So more fat cats and rent seekers, not fewer. There would probably also be some capital flight from the country, although I'm too lazy to work these ideas through in detail at the moment.

Many Republicans hold many views which are directly opposed to libertarianism.
Many others do not. Modern day "small government conservative" is indistinguishable from a "moderate libertarian", whoever that confused asshole is. Again, I wasn't inferring you were a libertarian, I just like pointing out when a topic flirts with the concept as an excuse to say they suck.
You know how all the New Atheist people won't shut up about Richard Dawkins and how bad biblical literalism is? They can't stop making Facebook and Twitter posts about these fundamentalists somewhere, who are so stupid that they believe the world was created in 7 days. They don't know anyone who is a biblical literalist. They don't have any family who are biblical literalists. Nobody who is a biblical literalist will ever, ever read their Facebook. But they CAN. NOT. SHUT. UP. about these stupid beliefs, that have no relevance to them or anyone they know. They will describe them in excruciating detail and bring them up all the time. When you see libertarians under every rock, you're being that guy. Don't be that guy.
