In my opinion, if the New York Times wants to know who got Trump elected, they should look in the mirror. Nobody held a gun to their heads and made them run wall-to-wall coverage on Trump's antics all through the primaries. They saw him as a joke candidate (hey, he's that guy from The Apprentice!), a good way to embarrass their Republican ideological enemies. But the joke was on them. There was actually a lot less support for open borders and free trade than what they thought. Poor Zuck. He must have thought he'd make such a great statesman for the Democrats.
