Trump tweeted that these drugs have the "potential to be a game changer," not that you should go out and mainline them without a prescription or the advice of a doctor. (You couldn't even do that if you wanted to, because they won't sell it to you without a prescription.) Here is a little more context.
Donald Trump has announced that two drugs could be a “gamechanger” in treating coronavirus and will be made available “almost immediately” by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). During a briefing with the coronavirus Taskforce at the White House, the US President said the antimalarial drugs — hydroxychloroquine and Cloroquine— would soon be available for “prescribed use”.
So calm down, your doctor is going to have to prescribe it for you. And they are not going to prescribe enough to stop your heart, unless they're a very shitty doctor or you're very fragile. By the way, a lot of drugs are highly toxic at the wrong dose, including Tylenol. I've criticized a lot of Trump's handling of this crisis, but this is actually a very good thing that he is doing here. The FDA typically takes years to approve new treatments, and requires millions of dollars. There's not even a financial incentive for drug companies to go through that process for non-patentable drugs like the ones here. So if he hadn't done this, this treatment certainly never would have been approved in time. In fact, it probably never would have been approved at all. Of course, it remains to be seen how effective it is. I've heard rumors that it has been used in Thailand successfully. So this is basically the same thing as the 737-MAX thread, where someone is criticizing Trump for making the correct decision, because Orange Man Bad. Now we still need to find a cure for Trump Derangement Syndrome, am I right? (soyface)
