[/quote] Let me make a prediction. COVID is here to stay and there will be a new vaccine every year or two, just like there is with the flu. You, personally, will get COVID at some point. Maybe not this variant. Maybe the next one, or the one after that. It will kill some old and sick people every year. Just like with the flu, some variants will be mild and some will be [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Kong_flu]worse.[/url] But we are just going to have to learn to deal with it and not freak out. Deaths can be minimized if we deploy vaccines promptly (rather than continuing to use the same vaccine for 2+ years while the virus mutates), if we don't all live in big cities, if fewer of us use public transit, if a lot of us work from home, if we have good air filtration systems in public spaces, if we live in warmer places and have a younger population. Some of that is politically acceptable to the current people in power. Some of it's not. Either way it doesn't really matter because the virus is out of the box and it's not going back in.[/quote]
