As a macfag I experienced most of the classic games a bit later or not at all
For a long time the big question about any game was whether I'd have to manually switch into 16 color mode first There were also a lot of classic Mac games that were only black and white. Some of them looked pretty good! I would almost say crisp black and white graphics with fancy dithering and stuff were the Mac calling card for many years. Just like fuzzy purple and orange shit with obvious color fringes was the Apple ][ calling card or old DOS users still think about CYAN, HOT PINK, WHITE and BLACK. Doom did make a big impression on me but by the time there was a mac port, the graphics weren't as magical as maybe they were for you guys. I was pretty impressed by Myst (don't laugh). Although I never got past the first island. Much later I replayed it as an adult and found it to be a pretty good (and also fair) adventure game. Macs had QuickTime which meant... a lot of people made movies you could play ON YOUR COMPUTER. Which seems completely mundane today, but was hot shit in the 80s/90s.
