Re: PS: Fuck you for making me stay to write this.

To clarify: what I find objectionable is not the war per se. It is the doublethink, the lies of the rulers and the lies of the ruled, the abject refusal of the American people to call a fucking spade a spade and the indulgent advantage taken by an increasingly paternalistic government of that blockheadedness. Last night on the news I saw soldiers leaving their children and getting onto transports and I knew that they were leaving to die so I could leave my lights on all night. They were dying so we could avoid developing alternative energy sources that much sooner. They were dying because over a hundred years ago some genius picked the gasoline engine over the ethanol one. They were dying because a room full of well-fed Anglo-Irish protestants with Ivy League degrees gambled on that America would rather have cheap gas and electricity than human lives. THEY WERE RIGHT.
Two things. First, (trivially) the gasoline engine had clear advantages in cost and efficiency despite being obviously dirtier less elegant. It was a good decision based on the technology of the time. Second, Saddam Hussein has abrogated the right of the Iraqi people to a government that cares about them and serves them and instead is holding the entire nation hostage for his own aggrandizement. He is crazy enough to use WMD, enjoys killing his own people (let's include the Kurds in that category), and there is no recourse from his perverse judgement. Strictly speaking, isn't toppling this faggot more along the lines of the initial comparison of the busload of people vs the 5 year-old? Except it's two busloads of people, one is going to die anyway but if you kill the other bunch the remaing people don't have to worry about busloads of people dying in the near future. Or something.
