Re: What, Sierra love without Gabriel Knight? Also: Allegiance

Even if you didn't like the FMV in GK2, and there's no doubt that GK3 was a betrayal of the series, the original game was one of the best adventure games ever compiled. Also: Allegiance, dammit. Nobody knows about it, but it was true love, baby, true love. The multiplayer marriage of RTS and space sim (with pretty graphics and fairly well balanced factions) was one of the greatest ideas ever, and it's a goddamned crime that nobody else has picked it up. It's what I dream the Star Wars space expansion will be, but know it won't.
What good is an online game that nobody plays? Also, wasn't GK2 that one with the ludicrous cat hair mustache puzzle that OMM made fun of? With puzzles like that how can FMV be the worst aspect?
GK3 had that epitome of contrived adventure game puzzle-solving. GK2's puzzles were far better. And GK3's puzzles weren't the worst part of that game, either. The pathetic writing (Gabriel's comments about and towards every female character in GK3 made we want to take a shower) and poor graphics (obvious line between head and torso, flesh two different shades even) were both worse. That game sucked BAD, worse even considering its premise was pretty good.
Wait which was the one with Tim Currey doing Gabriel's voice?
The first one. And he kinda sucked, but Worf and Hamill did decent jobs.
