Re: RWD!

The only thing disappointing to me at all about Volvo was their decision to go Front Wheel Drive.
So you're saying I should get the cheaper yet nearly as safe and side airbagged BMW 328is? I don't need second guessing right now!
This is (was) the poison thinking of Detroit infecting them. The Engine sits funny, most FWD cars are horribly unbalanced forward and although Volvo is second only to the M-1 Abrams in terms of highway safety, When your Power wheel and your Guidance wheel are on the same side of the vehicle and you loose traction you become a rock.
RWD love spoken by someone who never has to drive on snow or ice. Not that I don't love RWD too, but the sensible part of my brain knows that come snow, the RX-8 is going to be not nearly as fun.
Oddly, I live in Chicago (there is evidence of ice and snow here) and the car I am looking to replace is a '98 BMW 323ci. Second guessing is paralizing me and I do not wish to do the same to you. The Volvo Rocks, you will be well served by it. Ignore me for another reason, I have a company car which is a tank. Perfect for bad weather driving. If it was my only car, I would not happy in either the Mazda or the Nisson 350z come November. The 323 is not bad if caught in weather, but is no S70.
