They did effectively show how fucking annoying it would be to be trapped on a spaceship with Winona Rider. Almost too well, really. Everything I've read indicates that Aliens is pretty solid. I read somewhere that Fox or whoever has the rights to the first flick is re-releasing it into theatres, so I have been sort of avoiding catching them again in the hopes of seeing them on the big screen. My understanding is that each subsequent film does everything possible to skullfuck and completely ruin the first one, so I have sort of avoided them. It was also one of the first DVDs that got down to the $4.95 -- $7.95 price point, sort of making it like the <i>Steve Miller Band's Greatest Hits</i> of DVDs. the dark and gritty...Ice Cream Jonsey!
