Re: Dungeon Siege, Morrowind, IWD2 First Impressions

This game could have been subtitled The Wildlife Slayer because sometimes, that's all you fucking do. I think in the 5th or 6th chapter or so you don't even have an objective, you just toddle on through the linear as a traintrack forest and kill a bunch of wolves, wasps, scorpions, porcupine-lizard-turtle things simply because you can't be expected to walk through a forest without jamming a sword into something. Every RPG has this sort of monster filler but it is especially ludicrous in this game considering it is virtually plot free.
DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL the "Passive Healthy Wildlife" Mod. It is absolutely essential to not throwing the game away in disgust after about 1 week of playing. There were some other fun mods, giving you houses and shit, a stockmarket, banks... a "pack horse" to carry shit. hmm... One of them made all the merchants carry 10 times the normal gp amount they have, because I CAN'T FUCKING STAND killing some dude decked out with "Glass Armor" and then coming back to town to sell it and finding out he won't pay more than 500gp for this 10,000gp breastplate I have because that's all he has. I'd actually find that Mod and up it to 100 times the normal gp amount, but that requires editing every single NPC merchant's inventory individually in the fucking GUI (HINT: GIVE ME A COMMAND LINE INTERFACE), so what I did is I made the "Summoned Scamp" have a dialogue option to buy/sell stuff and gave him 500,000gp. That way I could summon a merchant and ditch all this shit I found in the middle of the dungeon. No annoying shit having to up my Strength and walking literally 45 minutes back to the nearest town to sell my crap. The problem with that, though, is if you have too much money you can train the shit out of your guy and hit level 50 in no time.
Yeah, but then the game shouldn't have armor/items worth so goddamn much. That's a fucking gay way to control things, cheating you out of your cash for loot. Whatever, though, this game had a ton of wierd design choices. I'm gonna get that wildlife mod, though, thanks.
