Re: We now have hosting for the next 12 months, and a new rule to go with it.

First, bad news: the new rule is that you must link to obscene images (porn, rotten.com) and label them as such (a [NSFW] tag or a clear description), no more inlining with the warning in your post title. Our new host was willing to budge on their AUP (which says no linking at all) that far presumably because they're smart enough to realize it doesn't change their legal position any to allow that. What's more, unlike some hosting companies who apparently didn't care for our content (and refused after seeing it), after reading the Postal 2 review, a copy of Entropy Stew's new Rules 2.0 (to be posted when the site goes up, and no I played no part in authoring them), and glancing at the forums, they welcomed us with open arms. The company in question is <a href="http://www.pghoster.com">pghoster.com</a>, and both what I've seen of them and what google tells me says they're good folks with redundant OC3s to 5 major backbones. They offer PHP/PostgreSQL for literally five times less any other host I've found. For the cost of $184.50 (covers the full next year), paid in full just this very second: A seperate IP and daily backup options in addition to the second <a href="http://www.pghoster.com/page.php?page=shared">plan</a> which basically reads: 500MB of webspace (the current forums are 112MB - and a solid 5% of that is my fault) 15GB of bandwidth per month (our current is 5GB/mo, our busiest month (when MacHall first linked us) was 7.22GB) PHP/perl/python, unlimited Postgresql OR MySQL DBs (the pghoster stands for PostgreSQL hoster) Unlimited email addresses, aliases (we can offer the regulars @caltrops.com forwarding aliases to email accounts - and only the regulars because we can verify their IPs). SSH login. If we upgrade to the $20/mo account, it's a full-blown shell with gcc. 10 subdomains should we need them. A slew of other features I could give a flying fuck about (and only one that concerns me - mod_webDAV on the server). These guys are great, really. Bandwidth overage is good ($5/GB in case of slashdotting), and should the space become a problem (seeing as we're a fifth of the way there already) they say they're willing to work with their customers to develop needs-specific account packages. I can't imagine a more perfect host, and the $14.25 (counting IP charge) per month is just amazing. Was costing V and I $120/mo for our line (admittedly, a good consumer-grade cable line would've run us $60/mo). We just shrunk $720 (our annual ISP bill minus the aforementioned $60/mo) into $184.50. --SB ES please get on IM and send me a 'Hey I'm here HOLY FUCK' as soon as you read this.
Does linking to dubious content also apply to artwork/cartoons?
