Re: Do you even read the posts you respond to? Or just choose not to respond?

I'm asking whether you consider 76 million uninsured kids a good thing or not.
YES! NO! Come on, that's below your usual standard for rhetorical questions. 76 million is not a "good thing"; 1 uninsured poor kid is not a good thing. But it is a statistic that is meaningless without knowing what is meant by poor, how that relates to past rates, and what that concretely means for these kids (most children are either healthy or screwed, what % is which).
I never said "poor," though you're correct it's usually the underpriviledged who are also uninsured. What do you mean, most kids are either healthy or screwed? A kid born with a congenital heart defect isn't "screwed" these days, as long as he has the funds to get treatment for it. I'm going to charitably assume you don't know what you're talking about, rather than the alternative, which is you think you do and still don't care. The weak should die off before they drag the rest of us down?

I'm asking why everyone keeps saying "Amurca doin' GREAT!" as our prison population expands faster than any other segment.
Also, what about the spotted owl? I'm not sure what that has to do with healthcare. Are you saying MORE TAXES, LESS CRIME? There are many ways I could think of to slash that prison population, beginning with decriminilization of vice, but I don't see either party reaching out to touch that.
I thought you were all in favor of more and more cops. Weren't you? I guess it comes down to viewing crime as a symptom rather than a disease, Cobra.

I'm asking if you really don't think we're headed to an "economic distortion" of our own that massive tax cuts and slashes in basic social services is only going to accelerate.
Is cutting taxes during an unprecedented boost in spending stupid in the short run? Obviously. Is it the catastrophe the left would like it to be? No. Just as Clinton was only tangentially related to the good times, Bush is only a part of the economic formula.
Yay, Clinton is back!! Your posts lacked a certain zing without him. Unfortunately, they lack it with him, too. I'm saying we had an opportunity with the government surplus to maybe address some of the problems our country has right now. Advocating a healthcare plan that covers all children isn't necessarily an attempt to close your precious class gap. Don't worry, just because Johnny Quintelas isn't coughing up blood doesn't mean he's necessarily going to be competing against your kid for that last Exeter spot, Chauncy.
