Re: Regardless of how hard it is to do during actual combat

I think that the only reason most games prevent you from just popping out the clip and putting in a new one is some kind of attempt to balance a 40-year-old bolt-action rifle against The Greatest Implement Of War Ever Devised. COD2 and most other games have you instantly topping off your 71-round PPSh drum and redistributing the ammo along the other magazines, so I doubt realism was a significant factor
Except it's the M1, so being able to reload it in the middle of a clip would ruin THE MAGIC!!!!!! Also there are countless other reasons to NOT have an M1 reload in the middle of a clip in all of these games. But they did have it in Brothers in Arms. But when you reloaded in the middle of a clip, you discarded the remaining bullets completely. In a more realistic game, apparently they'd have to animate your hand and arm removing the chambered bullet then push the button on the side there to pop the rest of the clip back up and then I guess you pop a bullet back in the clip before putting it away and getting a new clip to put into the M1. It would be easier to not let you reload until the clip is empty. Then you get to hear that CLANG sound which is like a signature of the M1, being one of the most one of a kind weapons in any game ever.
