[quote name="Binro Portal of Evil News post"][quote]<b>Help make a video game. </b> Binro the Heretic 03/24/05, 18:03 Okay, I'm ready to start coding an actual finished game. Instead of the hacking game, I decided to make a game people would actually like. The idea was inspired by you, the PoEN crowd, so I thought it only right to include you in the creative process. The working title is ''Ninja Pirate Zombie Massacre''. If anyone thinks of a better one, please feel free to post it. The following game elements are definite: The graphics will be 3D. The game will be a scrolling fighter along the lines of ''Golden Axe'' and ''Streets of Rage''. The game will be set in the 17th century. The player character will be a former ninja who fled japan and became a pirate in the caribbean. The ship he sails on makes berth at a seemingly deserted island. It's only after the crew ventures deep into the island's interior that they discover the island is cursed and crawling with the living dead. The game involves several stages of fighting your way off the island and back onto the ship. The zombies will be the type which can be killed by destroying their brain. The following game elements are open to debate: What types of weapons should be available? (This includes elements of the landscape which can be used to inflict damage) Should the player be able to perform all the wicked-ass ninja moves right from the start? Should they have to earn ''power-ups''? Would it be better to arrange it so the ultra-cool moves must be reached by performing combos of simple moves in the proper sequence? How fast and dangerous should the zombies be? The game coding book I bought came with a 3D modelling program and I already have Paintshop Pro, So I've started the graphics. It's going to take a while since I don't want the game to look like ass. The book also came with a music & sound program. I've never been very musically inclined. I know a few people here are into making music. If anyone would care to volunteer to do the score, I would be extremely grateful. I also welcome any ideas you have for levels, the storyline, various pickups, what have you. Naturally, any contibutions that make it into the final game will be credited to their contributors.
