Re: BUILD MY NEW COMPUTER (Fussbett Edition)

So! Ray of Light says to go with the dualcore CPU because the 64 bits of the Athlon64 is never taken advantage of... and he owns an Athlon64! Is he full of shit? Tell him to his face if so!
As far as I know, all the dual cores out now are also 64 bit. I have a dual core and I love it. Massive multi-tasking becomes a reality. If you want to play BF2 while encoding mp3s and having Photoshop open: you now can (if the rest of your components can perform as needed). The graphics card you have selected is underpowered already and will not serve for too much longer. That's a bad are to be stingy these days, unfortunately. I have about two gigs of ram and don't regret springing for the extra gig at all. Cache can make a difference, but it largely depends on what you use your computer for. When you have a program dealing with a very large amount of data that needs to be on hand at once, a lot of L2 cache can really reduce running times, but other than that, I don't know.
