[/quote] GameMaker is a great program for making simple games. It's got all of the drag-and-drop stuff so that you could make a Space Invaders clone 30 minutes after install, but it also has a good scripting language that you can use to make more complicated games. Even if there's something you want to do that the scripting language doesn't handle, it will let you import from dlls so there's no real restrictions there. I'm making a Magic: The Gathering clone with it right now and I'm pretty pleased with how easy it is to use.
