Re: WHAT THE FUCK etc. etc.

The gravity gun felt like some buggy user mod. It was basically just a gun that used furniture for ammo only none of that ammo could fit through the (many, many) small apartment doors and picking something up blocked your entire view. No flinging guards into explosive barrels, no smacking them against the wall until their skulls cave in and leave bloodstreaks, no lifting a guy up and watching him spray panic fire everywhere, no immobilizing a guy in place so he's fried when the supercollider wave hits him.
You can specifically do all of these things with the gravity gun. Every fucking one. Except maybe having a flying enemy set off an explosive barrel, because that doesn't make any fucking sense even in Psi Ops. Oh, but you didn't get to the end of the game yet, which is when you get the super charged gravity gun.
You mean the part where you FINALLY can pick up enemies and throwing them causes them to gently evaporate into white particles? While Half-Life 2 would every so often bring the game to a screeching halt and force the player to stack cinderblocks onto a lever or shift garbage on a giant balance in order to justify the money they spent on the Havok engine, Psi Ops just had fun with it.
