Nick Adenhart, 22, was a starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He killed last week in a hit-and-run accident. The other driver was later revealed to have been intoxicated at the time of the fateful collision.
One of the things CBS Sportsline added to their fantasy baseball software is the ability for players to add comments to a player's stat page. CBS doesn't seem to have any method available to remove players from the available talent pool, at least not quickly. You are free to select deceased Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart.
Free to pick him up as a free agent... and trade for him!
How the heck do at least 3 trades get made for Adenhart days after this horrible incident? Talk about rigged teams? My sincere condolences to Adenharts family and to the Angels. I'm sure he'll be looking down as an angel for eternity on his family and teammates (by RORER7_14 04/12/2009 10:52 am EST)
Three trades! Who's running these obviously rigged, yet ghoulish teams? Also, if any of the Adenharts play fantasy baseball, RORER7_14 offers condole-- sincere, sorry, sincere condolences. Just don't make any suspicious roster moves.
How about I was trading him the night he died, but the guy wanted to sleep on it. F me. (by MJPresents 04/13/2009 9:25 am EST)
Blast! If only his trade partner was as reckless and willing to avoid sleeping on it as Adenhart's killer.
I wish the senators and congressmen/women would listen to the people, because then there would be harsher penalties for DUIs. I'm all for jail forever. Someone in my family was killed by a drunk driver, so I know this really sucks. R.I.P. Nick. (by Yanks27in08 04/13/2009 1:47 pm EST)
Get your senators and congressmen OR WOMEN involved! I guess he recalls that Louise Slaughter used to be a rep in NY? This guy also predicted the Yankees would win their 27th title in 2008, so I wouldn't worry too much about his ability to see into the future.
Some fans out there think I should pick up a dead SP when I already got 2 of 'em.In all seriousness;deepest condolensces to all who were r close 2 him.God only takes the best;to his parents, remember, have faith!GOD never gives more than 1 can handle,so I know u guys r strong (by christheyankee 04/12/2009 7:35 am EST)
In all seriousness, God never gives you more than 1 can handle. ... Who is the "you" here? Fantasy baseball players? God gave me more than I could handle last year when I faced a team in the playoffs that had Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton. Chris The Yankee's God sounds sort of like a coddling fag, actually.
The final thing I like is the last CBS trade involving Nick: Adenhart was traded for Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Hideki Okajima. Okajima has been one of the best relief pitchers in baseball the last two years, but got into some early trouble this year, which will be completely forgotten by the end of the season. CLEARLY, Red Sawx fan is not going to stand for this shitbag, and orchestrated a trade for a dead guy. OKAJIMA IS CLE-AH-LEE THE CHINK INNA RED SAWX AH--MAHHHHHHHHH
(Confidential to F. Sanitaro, Toronto and I. Jonsey, Cowhump, CO: the reason I know it was a Sox fan that did this is because I was going to do the exact same thing, but with Matt Bush.)
