Long story short, some arcade games are three bucks through Amazon, for the XBLA.
Here's why I hate this hobby:
Kotaku stole the story from CheapCollegeGamers.com, which apparently was given the heads-up from a third site, which I would have directly linked to, only CheapCollegeGamers.com requires registration to simply read their forum.
Nobody at Kotaku did any research as to whether or not this was true and - though it was included in the article anyway - Paperboy is not $2.96.
I bought Paperboy for five bucks, because I actually hate playing it through MAME, owing to the fact that I've yet to make a control panel out of wood and a bike's handlebars. I assume the 360 controller will be analogy enough.
I turn my 360 on to redeem the code, and Microsoft DEMANDS I update Live before I do anything. So I go through that bullshit. I try to find out where the fuck I redeem the code, and... well, it's a joke - I had to consult three walkthroughs on the net to find out where the "redeem code" button is. Anne Frank wasn't hid that well, not even kidding around, the Germans actually found her without having to go on-line.
I finally input the code, expecting Paperboy to begin downloading, but no, for some reason my 360 is re-downloading FUCKING BRAID. ???
I don't care that Gauntlet and Paperboy are going to take up 70 MB on my drive, because I know they had to re-do the graphics for better televisions. That's fine, that's understandable., and I'm never going to fill the drive up at this rate. But the dashboard on the 360 is an enormous failure in every respect. Not enough to make me get a PS3 or anything, but it's the worst part of console gaming.
