We had a big garage sale, and we came out with enough money to buy a Wii, and Mrs. oK wanted one really bad so we got one. =|
Now I am tasked with finding the games that will actually make this thing worth having in the house. I have been pretty much totally ignorant of this system up until now. I played some of the Wii Play games at relatives' houses and they were fun enough to pass the time on New Year's Day but I wouldn't actually, you know, buy Wii Play.
What I have now:
-Wii Sports (came with the set)
-World of Goo (bought from WiiWare)
-Some old NES games bought over the Virtual Console
Here's the short list of things we'll definitely get (unless warned away):
-Super Mario Galaxy
-the wii Mario Kart
-some variant of Rock Band
-Super Smash Brothers Brawl
...and that's all the games I have heard are good on the Wii. =(
So, what are your recommendations? The sky's the limit on genre; stuff I can play on my own is great, stuff that's group fun is great. Bonus points for a Disgaea-like strategy RPG or Moo2-like 4Xs. Also, keep in mind that I had a video game blackout from like 1992 to 2000, so any DLC stuff that's awesome on the Wii would be welcome as well.
