Jesus Christ, that was obviously a metaphor. Island dimensions ARE important when considering the ecosystem. Put a load of people on there, and the system might be stressed too much, and thus "capsize".

Most people absolutely LOVE pointing out how stupid other people are. Ironically, almost everyone I know who does this a lot isn't that smart themselves. The people who are actually smart or decent people (usually) don't give a shit and generally give people the benefit of the doubt. Even if he wasn't making a metaphor (which it's pretty obvious he was; just his manner of speech made it seem otherwise), a decent person should give him the benefit of the doubt and assume it was one anyways.
