Typically, the kind of moderately hardcore strategy is accompanied by a frustratingly obtuse interface and a novel-sized manual. This could not be further from the case here...[the Jupiter Incident] does an admirable job of allowing you to jump right in and have some fun without requiring a degree in warfare.
Is this like that Ninja Gaiden thing?
But as far as I can tell it sounds tailor made for Fabs. An 8.25-8.5 from GI, pc game of the month, that's at least solidly mediocre if you dig the theme. I'm as allergic to slow moving/non turn strategy as I am to, say, giant robots...I gather from the gushing review it fails to learn from Wing Commander and Tie Fighter and do away with "unconventional" missions (stealth!)...consider yourself warned.
It's like playing NG without learning how to do anything right from the start, and the instruction book accidentally fell into a fireplace. As for NG itself besides the fucking terrible design and inclusion of SURVIVAL HORROR puzzles, I never remembered that there was a block function because I was too busy trying to find out how to fire arrows without going into the fps mode, so I went back to playing crimson skies. |
