Here's the last thing on this subject I noticed about SA. I go to the football forum, but I'm not sure why because I hate everyone there. It really is a garbage forum filled with garbage people filled with garbage for their souls.
The mods created "Divisional Threads" for the 8 divisions in football. The NFC South one was unreadable, because two of the biggest and most worthless losers on the entire site follow the Falcons and Panthers. They post 20 or 30 times a day in the thread and you can't "flame" them because that gets you banned or whatever. The mods figured out that the divisional threads were a bad idea, so they closed them all. They then told the posters of the site to make more, smaller threads about stuff that happens in the NFL.
But they didn't create any of those new threads themselves.
And that was amazing, even for a shithole like SA, which caters to the fattest and laziest people on the planet. The mods whined at the posters to "create more threads," they wanted a new posting paradigm, and they couldn't be bothered to start any conversation themselves. Now that I'm reading what I wrote, it doesn't even remotely do justice to how fucking lazy they are, but who gives a shit, forums have been a solved problem since SB went off his meds. Every time I go to some other forum it reminds me of the very worst of people, how they have a universal need, a universal fucking need to control, shape and limit conversation, and do so badly.
I will say that the Starcraft 2 forum has the best idea since Caltrops post-SB: the mods come in once a day after lunch and delete any messages where users threaten physical harm on the other posters. Other than that, they don't do anything. It'd be perfect if they removed that thing they do after lunch, but otherwise it's not bad. You have 23 hours and thirty minutes to yell at fucking retards.
