The library was selling it (along with various other old books) for a donation of a quarter so I stole it because I didn't have a quarter.

My edition only has a short introduction. I could really use those maps and annotations. There are a lot of points where I've wondered how close his account is to what really happened. I can filter the easiest stuff, like his claim that a mare gave birth to a hare just when Xerxes' army entered Greece and so obviously it would have been stupid to continue with the invasion, but everywhere else I am a yokel.
