BACK IN THE HOSPITAL AGAIN. Oh boy! I currently have no immune system to speak of. Other than that I'm feeling really good! Seriously, I'd have no idea anything was amiss if it wasn't for the blood work results.
Is it rejection? Seems really really unlikely since all the numbers look awesome, except my white blood cell count. Is it my medications immunosuppressing the shit out of my immuno? Maybe. I thought there were two drugs that could do that, and we discontinued them a week ago and two days ago. But today I found out there's a third med, and we're discontinuing it today. That says to me: they thought it was pretty unlikely this third one would be the cause. I think we're rapidly approaching the end of this theory. Which leaves . . . what? Bone marrow disorder of some kind?
The hospital seems to have it's collective head up it's collective ass. I was given a surgical mask thing by a dude who wheels patients down for x-rays and shit. No nurse or doctor had gotten around to tell me that, as of now, I have to wear this when I leave my room. No offense to the guy, but I'd like to be informed of new developments by a nurse, or even better, a doctor. I'd cleverly arranged for my breakfast to be ready when I got back from the tests (which required that I fast for 8 hours in theory, closer to 11 in reality), but when I returned, I was told they'd sent it back. At that point I started yelling. WHY DID YOU DO THAT. There was food on there you're not allowed to have. I'll send a nutritionist -- I ALREADY TALKED TO THE NUTRITIONIST, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. Note: I'd ordered a yoghurt, two little bowls of cereal, and scrambled eggs. Unbeknownst to me, someone in the kitchen had put fresh fruit on there for no reason. I hadn't asked for that. They ended up giving me the order sans fruit, so cancel red alert, stand down everyone. It's just that every single day I was in the hospital before, I lost weight. I vowed this time not to let them put me on fucking starvation rations. I'm already practicing shaking my fist in outrage for whatever retardation occurs when I order my lunch later.
I just got a visit from one of the . . . shit I lost the technical name . . . one of the duuur Blood Draw Guys. He's pretty cool, and one of the best I've encountered. He wanted to see how I was doing, just visiting. That was really nice. He said, "well you look good, better than you have the last few times I saw you. More color in your face." Probably because I was angry at stuff. "Well get angry more then!" Good news: I get angry pretty often. That's good news, right? SAY YES OR I WILL CRUSH YOU. |
