Rite Aid's Simplify brand of Mountain Dew by Tansin A. Darcos (TDARCOS) 11/22/2011, 12:05pm PST
Rite-Aid's house brand is "Simplify" and they have an in-house version of Mountain Dew which I can't remember the exact name, but it's something like Simplify Mountain Breeze or Simplify Mountain Mist or Simplify Mountain Lightning or something similar.

Anyway, compared with Mountain Dew, it's not bad. It's slightly different, a slight more citrus taste and less sweetness than the national brand. At $1 for the 2-liter bottle, it's not a bad way to go if you're a little short on pocket change or you're throwing a party and the people aren't really close friends so you don't want to spend the extra money. Their price on the regular Mountain Dew 2 liter is about $1.69, similar to Target. CVS always charges $1.99 for the national brand sodas except when something's on sale.

I've never understood why selling a 20- or 24-ounce cold bottle of soda is worth $1.25 but the bottle that's 3 times as much, but warm, is 50c more. Since we don't have a choice we pay what we have to.
