I read all about it last year so some of the details are missing, but from what I recall there was a CONSIDERABLE amount of physical evidence exonerating the Ramsays. Most importantly, semen on the corpse. It's so crazy because it seems so obvious at first blush that they killed their daughter but then when you look closer none of the pieces quite match up. Fingerprints don't match, DNA doesn't match, the paper and ink from the ransom note don't match, and so on.
A similar thing is with Leigh Arthur Allen from the Zodiac case. A mountain of clues that would indicate he was the Zodiac Killer, but the DNA is wrong and he had unassailable alibis for some of the the killings. They tried to pin it on Leigh any number of ways but each time the science said he was absolutely innocent. Saliva didn't match, DNA didn't match, bullets and knives and stuff didn't match. It's crazy.
While I'm on the subject, Charles Lindbergh accidentally killed his son. This one is the anti-Ramsay because all the concrete evidence points to Charles but he says it was a stranger and the world believed him. Charles had a habit of hiding the baby under a pile of blankets in a closet and crying wolf to scare his wife, then one day the baby is found smothered and transported a mile from his house and a bunch of bullshit conspiracy ransom notes with Charles' fingerprints all over them magically appear in his handwriting and a shitty ladder built from parts in his shed is propped against the house. Probably the Hungarian immigrant from Bedford-Stuyvesant decided to travel upstate to murder the baby of America's Hero hmmm yess yessssssss.
This is a shitpost because I'm just mentioning shit without backing it up but oh well someone upthread said this site is shutting down anyway. If anyone cares, we can talk about these cases more. I read some websites about all three cases last year so, you know...... expert *points to self*. |
