Moscow, with a screenplay by Sorokin, who was recommended to me in translation by one of you dicks was he not? I don't understand how this movie didn't get any kind of international release; it's about gangsters and nightclubs and drug running deals gone bad and betrayal and joylessness and the end of the Soviet era but all done in this sort of lurid, obscene, arch irony. I think the closest English/American film to this that I've ever seen is The Krays - but Moscow is saturated in beautiful color, beautiful music.
it's terrifying and great. If you ever get a chance, definitely go see it.
