means 'read the whole thread'

we don't have that burden thanks to the superior nesting format, but basically in the flat forums you have to read every post to keep up with every part of the conversation

if someone on a flat forum replies to a year old thread with an interesting title, people who tend towards honorable posting (ie the unemployed) will start at the beginning and then get pissed 200 posts later when it occurs to them that dragon age 2 is already out wtf and then they look at the date and get mad

on the other hand if it's a good thread full of good people it's not a bad thing if everyone reads the whole thread since then there's no repeat arguments or whatever but it's pretty rare
