Man on Fire was a bit closer to reality (?!) when it came to the kidnapping, the neighbourhoods and the tactics, as the police is quite often involved in such activities. It also was much more satisfying to watch Denzawl 'collect', much more creative, poetic, and still just as close to reality as the other movie.

Factually, things are just as bad as they're portrayed, but they're not quite as prevalent nor as dramatic, obviously. In general, people stopped giving a fuck about kidnapees, so they went back to having gunfights with cabbies on friday nights. Go where the money is, yo.
