It's in a free open beta right now, and I have to say, it's pretty fun. The basic idea is that you are a Veritech fighter from Macross, and you're supposed to capture all the factories on a map. (Your home base is also a factory.) You can order one of 8 different creeps to be built, and it will appear at any factory that you control when you fly over it. Then, you can fly it anywhere and drop it with attack orders. It's kind of like a 3rd-person Sacrifice in the Robotech universe. It keeps you VERY busy: between shuttling tanks back and forth, diving in to save your guys from sneak attacks, and setting up coordinated assaults of your own, there's no time to blink. It's very Sacrificey in that you get increasingly powerful as you start to take over the map, but it's still tough to go after the final factory (shrine). There's also a lot of awesome moments where you fly a bridge too far and go HOLY SHIT MISSILES EVERYWHERE!!!! It's worth checking out, it's less than half a GB and it's currently free. On Steam. |
