A big publisher grabbed a license, fucked the game up like everyone else did, and that was gonna be that. In a very real way, Xenonauts made it possible to forget that XCOM is named what it is and just enjoy it for WHAT it is. It no longer has to be the chosen one. The endless logos on boot can even be removed now. I feel I will play it again and do the thing where you name the marines after people you care about. I will do that with the posters of Caltrops.
