| Except in the thread below/next to this one, there is a good discussion about the game, and it seems people (other that Jonsey who is just asshurt about everything in life) don't totally hate it, but have reasonable complaints about it.
So I guess... I guess I won't be fighting anyone. Unless you want? I loved it. Call it "dumbing down", but all the streamlining shit worked to make me want to actually play this game as a 40+ year old man with responsibilities and an overall willingness for this all to be over. I was excited to get new weaponry, was excited to get the money to build the structures required to do so, and was excited to take cover and overwatch behind a big truck. And when I got my first alien-designed spaceship to fly around in, I thought it was cool. There are, as others pointed out, pretty mind-blowing bugs which I can't believe still aren't fixed (the percent-to-hit numbers over the alien icons in the lower-right are comedic relief suitable for the whole family). And yeah, I finished on Normal probably without playing the game right (I think I used one smoke grenade and zero other special abilities). But hey. I thought it was great. I sat through the entire credit roll at the end. I guess I'm ready to fight you if you really hated the game. How could you really hate the game? |
