Did we stop using the "-bit" suffix to describe console generations? by WITTGENSTEIN 07/09/2013, 12:54pm PDT
Admittedly at some point it would get ridiculous, I just realized I haven't heard anyone use the term to refer to this current crop of upcoming consoles.

8-bit: NES, Atari, etc
16-bit: SNES, Genesis, Turbografx-16 (presumably?)
32-bit: Saturn, Playstation, Dreamcast
64-bit N64 (I think it was still considered 32-bit in everything but advertising?)
128-bit: XBOX, PS2, Gamecube
256-bit (presumably): XBOX360, PS3, Wii
516-bit: ??????

    HW architecture stopped at 32 bits for the longest time, only recently went 64 NT by The Happiness Engine 07/09/2013, 4:31pm PDT NEW
