Based on a couple hours playing last night, I never encountered a crash or a noticeable bug. The original Eador:Genesis was incredibly poorly optimized and would slow down every time windows or my antivirus ate a couple cycles in the background. At the moment MoaBW seems to run smoother.
There ARE some boneheaded decisions with the interface where most everything now requires an extra mouse-click or two to accomplish (they were trying to minimize the size of the interface to better show off the shinier graphics. Bad idea, but not a game-breaker.
Yes, this is Eador:Genesis with better graphics and pretty much that's it. I consider that a good thing since Eador:Genesis was a great game to begin with. It's like ICJ's complaint about why didn't Firaxis just remake the mechanics of the original X-Com with better graphics instead of re-inventing the wheel?
All that said, I wouldn't buy unless it's discounted. And pay close attention to forums, as I've heard some people say this game still doesn't support intel integrated graphics cards (?). |
