After all, it's just a game. But words on the internet require support groups. And I don't completely buy the whole "death threat" angle that journos mindlessly repeated about the CoD dev. Kotaku, of all sites, was the only one I could find that repeated some of the responses.

Mentioning his daughter is creepy, (although the writer might've just been throwing out a generic insult) but fuck if these are remotely supposed to be taken seriously. A flood of them can be annoying, but how much do you lose by just ignoring or deleting your Twitter account for 3 days? Reddit quoted a few others:

Someone wishing you had testicular cancer is not a death threat. I'm sure a few "I'll hunt you down and kill you" tweets were in there, but of these just wish he dies in a fire or whatever. That's not a threat anymore than momentarily hoping the asshole you cut you off in traffic gets rear-ended by a truck is. |
