Trine 2. Actually has much tighter level design than Trine 1, but it's still style over substance.
Dust: An Elysian Tail. Stop looking to Kickstarters for your QA, assholes, clearly their enthusiasm was too great to detect that the "flying dust storm + projectile" attack wipes out the screen every time and gives better combos than attempting to attack and combo normally. I knew the ending of the game from the end of the first boss fight when the monster starts finger-wagging about all its "children" you killed. Then you continue murdering its children nonstop, but you're supposed to feel guilty about it.
Guacamelee: Poor combat aside, for me one of the key important details of these "metroidvania" games is that they feel like you're exploring a contiguous world. Guacamelee doesn't.
Papers, Please: Instead of you paying $10 for the privilege of playing this game, you should be getting paid $10 an hour for the drudgery of playing this game. |
