It just seems like typical MMO shit (memorize class, work together, triumph) but instead of beating a static encounter you're fighting a team that's trying to do the MMO shit better than you. While it's sort of interesting as an esport it seems like it's generally populated by the worst people. Maybe my view is a bit warped since these games make me want to kill myself but everyone I know who plays them just seems as miserable as I am when they're playing them. It just seems like a genre designed so nebulously so losses can be brushed of as circumstance and victories can be attributed to amazing skill and genius. |
