1. Leave me alone to do whatever I want as long as I'm not hurting, injuring or representing a threat or danger to someone else.
2. A government should do only that which is necessary to provide the necessary protections for those who would do the unacceptable actions described in item 1.
3. Government has no business allowing some businesses to evade the forces of the market or the results of their own mistakes. ("too big to fail" should mean "too big to exist". The sort of problems we had like the 2008 money crisis is almost certainly a result of the government granting special privileges.)
4. Monopolies should be rare, difficult to obtain, easy to lose or be terminated, and be of limited duration. (This includes copyright and patent protections, and by "limited duration" this means a few years, not life+decades or a long period of time. What should be the limit is debatable, but it should be enough to encourage development, not to give monopoly rents for inordinately long periods of time.)
