Right now, only one state has the power to do anything about it, and that's the only reason we haven't seen another full scale invasion since '73. If I were Israel, I know I'd rather maintain control of whatever territory was necessary to ensure my ability to defend my own borders and put up with whatever limp-wristed international condemnation results, rather than give it up for humanitarian reasons and rely on that same international condemnation to protect me from cleansing by holy fire. |
