Is magic worth it this time? The only spells worth bothering with in Shadowrun Returns were the ones that completely skipped enemy turns for multiple rounds (blindness, petrify, confusion). Made worse by not explaining Shaman summoning at all. 8 hours into the game, I come across a potted plant in a corp lobby with a skull action icon that I've never seen before. Clicking on it summons a giant rock elemental?!?!?! 2 turns later the rock elemental goes berserk and starts attacking me?!!! The fuck? It's like they expected everyone to know how that part works from the pen & paper version.

Is decking useful this time? Does it still telegraph in advance the runs where you need one?


Sadly still mission-sensitive. There are a few missions where decking gives you an edge with turrets or bypassing bullshit. Usually if you can't deck it there's some other clue around to save you.
