Conceptually, here is what I was not getting.
- There is a reserved series of IP addresses to dynamically allocate. say, 150 - 255.
- Your static machines would NOT be in that range. So like 103-149.
I had the dynamic IP addresses set to 103-255.
That said, the new router (ASUS RT-N66U Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Router) is giving me speeds far, far far beyond the DIR-655. I kept the DIR-655 just in case I need it for the new house. But I have a network switch with 16 ports that I sorta want to use again.
