Dan Savage predicted this perfectly: When a wealthy executive at the powerful Conde Nast publishing company gets outed by a hooker for cheating on his wife, everyone condemns the site that reported it, making all kinds of excuses about how modern marriages can be "complicated." When the Ashley Madison hacker essentially does the same thing to millions of normal people and minor internet celebrities, everyone falls upon the cheaters with their claws out, cackling with glee. The wealthy do get their indulgences, don't they? |
