That thread makes it sound like they went with a very specialized setup specificially designed to take out AI's. The problem is normally you have no idea what setup or even what race your opponent is until the game starts (unless you agree and tell each other beforehand), so going with a highly specialized squad if going to get you killed most of the time. An all spiker force would get slaughtered in most situations. I ran some tests awhile back pitting AI's against their equivalent point cost in exterminators. The AI's are bigger targets with less accurate guns, so you'd expect them to lose against exterminators in a medium to long ranged firefight. I set the AI at one end, four spaced out exterminators on the other, and let them shoot it out. The AI won about 75-90% of the time. Another bonus not mentioned: once you subscribe you can click "find me an opponent" and automatically be matched up with other opponents based on your rank. |
